Here is the secret to why this works.  Other types of devices have triggers holding strong springs or just a hook in the eye of the rod making them almost impossible to release with the gentle tap of a real fish bite.  I invented the Quickset 12 years ago when nothing else like it existed.  The Quickset evolved from 11 prototypes until this design.  I didn't copy someone else's idea, this is the original.  The Quickset works so well because it is an extension of the tip of the fishing rod.  It only takes a regular bite to release it because there are two levers inside that let it hold the pressure of the bent rod, but is easily released with a normal bite.  Of course it is adjustable from the heavy bite of a big fish or the light bite of smaller fish and after ice fishing season it will help you catch more fish in the warm weather too!
