Vintage G & M Avalon Mercantile Co. Catalina Island Wool Striped Onepiece Mens Swimsuit
This rare vintage Gantner & Mattern Avalon Mercantile Co. Catalina Island wool striped one piece mens swimwear swimsuit dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pink and blue mixed color heather gray wool knit fabric with a light blue striped design around the bottom. This mens one piece style swimsuit has a button shoulder strap closure, striped skort skirted bottom, attached striped leg bloomer shorts underneath and is unlined. There is a "Gantner & Mattern Co. MFRS." made for "Avalon Mercantile Co. Catalina Island, California" label sewn inside. The swimsuit measures 32 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 28 inch waist and 36 inch hips. It is in good condition, with two tiny moth holes on the front top (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of retro Santa Catalina Island woolen swimwear wearable art!
