How to attach?
Tags have a hole in them.  You will receive a split ring connector to attach the tag to the pet's collar or harness.

About the tags
Tags are about 1.125" x 1.125" and very light weight.  They are made out of anodized aluminum, so they will not irritate the skin nor will body oils affect the tags.  The laser engraving will appear white on the tag.  Under normal conditions, the engraving should last for many years.  The tags can withstand temperature extremes and can get wet.  Only physical abrasion will affect the quality of the engraving.
