    Description

    This 1804 Draped Bust Half Cent is the C-8 Spiked Chin Variety for this date, it graded Choice F+ with nice details showing. This variety is thought to be caused by a bolt that had impacted the dies leaving the spike off of Liberty's chin, and the series of lines in the field at 3:30 on the obverse. While the spike itself is a little weak due to wear on the coin, the lines in the field are very bold which clearly identifies this variety. The coin overall is very nice, just honest wear. There are no problem marks or hits, it is a very nice example of this popular variety! Someone will be pleased I think! This coin would make a welcome addition to a high grade set.
